  • Swallow Flomax whole. Do not break, crush, chew, or open capsules before swallowing.
  • If you miss a dose of Flomax , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. If you miss more than 2 dose of Flomax , contact your doctor for instructions.

Urispas is an anticholinergic. It works by decreasing muscle spasms of the bladder.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch.

Storage

Store this product at the room temperature of 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees (15-30 degrees C) is permitted.

Warnings/Precautions

Do NOT use Flomax if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Flomax
  • you are taking another alpha-blocker (eg, prazosin)

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Some medical conditions may interact with Flomax . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines or other substances
  • if you have had a severe allergic reaction (eg, severe rash, hives, difficulty breathing, dizziness) to any sulfonamide (sulfa) medicine, such as acetazolamide, celecoxib, certain diuretics (eg, hydrochlorothiazide), sulfonylureas (eg, glyburide), probenecid, sulfamethoxazole, valdecoxib, or zonisamide.
  • if you have a history of high blood pressure or prostate cancer
  • if you will be having eye surgery.

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Flomax . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

  • Alpha-blockers (eg, prazosin) or phosphodiesterase inhibitors (eg, sildenafil) because symptoms of low blood pressure (eg, severe dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting) may occur
  • Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), cimetidine, or serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (eg, fluoxetine) because they may increase the risk of Flomax ’s side effects
  • Warfarin because the risk of side effects may be increased.

Possible Side Effects

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

  • Back pain; blurred vision; cough; decreased sexual ability; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; lightheadedness; runny or stuffy nose; sinus inflammation; trouble sleeping; weakness.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

  • Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); chest pain; fainting; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; irregular heartbeat; prolonged, painful erection; severe of persistent dizziness.

Benemid works by removing the extra uric acid from the body. Benemid does not cure gout, but after you have been taking it for a few months it will help prevent gout attacks. Benemid will help prevent gout attacks only as long as you continue to take it.

Benemid is also used to prevent or treat other medical problems that may occur if too much uric acid is present in the body.

Benemid is sometimes used with certain kinds of antibiotics to make them more effective in the treatment of infections.

Important :

  • Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Benemid.
  • Diabetes patients - Benemid may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine.
  • Benemid may interfere with some lab tests (e.g., blood or hemoglobin urine tests, theophylline levels). Make sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are using Benemid.
  • Lab tests, including tests for sugar in the urine, may be required to monitor your progress. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
  • Use of Benemid is not recommended in children younger than 2 years of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you become pregnant while taking Benemid, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Benemid during pregnancy. Benemid is excreted in breast milk. What are ibuprofen tablets or caplets?

IBUPROFEN (Motrin®, Advil®, Rufen®, Nuprin®) is an anti-inflammatory drug. Ibuprofen reduces inflammation and eases mild to moderate pain. It reduces fever and relieves the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (rheumatism), osteoarthritis, menstrual cramps or premenstrual pain and swelling. Generic ibuprofen tablets and caplets are available.

What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • anemia
  • asthma, especially aspirin sensitive asthma
  • bleeding problems or taking medicines that make you bleed easily such as anticoagulants (’blood thinners’)
  • cigarette smoker
  • coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery within the past 2 weeks
  • diabetes
  • drink more than 3 alcohol-containing beverages a day
  • heart or circulation problems like angina, high blood pressure, heart failure, heart rhythm problems, history of heart attack, history of blood clots, or leg edema (fluid retention)
  • kidney disease
  • liver disease
  • stomach or duodenal ulcers
  • history of stroke

Ibuprofen may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often or for a longer time than directed.

Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.

What if I miss a dose?

What side effects may I notice from taking ibuprofen?

Elderly patients are at increased risk for developing side effects.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:

  • signs of bleeding - bruising, pinpoint red spots on the skin, black tarry stools, blood in the urine, unusual tiredness or weakness
  • signs of an allergic reaction - difficulty breathing or wheezing, skin rash, redness, blistering or peeling skin, hives, or itching, swelling of eyelids, throat, lips
  • blurred vision
  • change in the amount of urine passed
  • difficulty swallowing, severe heartburn or burning, pain in throat
  • pain or difficulty passing urine
  • stomach pain or cramps
  • swelling of feet or ankles
  • vomiting blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):

  • diarrhea
  • dizziness, drowsiness
  • gas or heartburn
  • headache
  • nausea, vomiting

What should I watch for while taking ibuprofen?

Let your prescriber or health care professional know if your pain continues, do not take with other pain-killers without advice. Do not treat yourself for a fever with ibuprofen for more than 3 days, or for pain for more than 10 days without asking your prescriber or health care professional for advice. You may be covering up a more serious illness.

To reduce unpleasant effects on your throat and stomach, take ibuprofen with a full glass of water and never just before lying down. If you notice black, tarry stools or experience severe stomach pain and vomit blood or what looks like coffee grounds, notify your health care prescriber immediately.

If you are taking medicines that affect the clotting of your blood, such as aspirin or blood thinners such as Coumadin®, talk to your health care provider or prescriber before taking this medicine.

You may get dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how ibuprofen affects you. Do not sit or stand up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. This reduces the risk of dizzy or fainting spells.

Do not smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol; these may increase the irritation to your stomach when taking this medicine.

It is especially important not to use ibuprofen during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically directed to do so by your health care provider. Ibuprofen may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.

If you are going to have surgery, tell your prescriber or health care professional that you are taking ibuprofen. Problems can arise if you need dental work, and in the day to day care of your teeth. Try to avoid damage to your teeth and gums when you brush or floss your teeth.

Where can I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children in a container that small children cannot open.

Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep container tightly closed. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
